Counters, Cabinets, and Candy

This makes me think of Karen...I love how things remind me to remember :)

My counter feels like eye candy....and it fools people.   It only looks like granite.   Wilsonart - Madura Pearl.
Last week also saw the addition of the crown moulding.
I think that's my new favorite part.   Oh and handles too!
And Blixie is chillin'...that's her favorite part.
Before...

And after....

.....a bit of a change.

What you can't see is that the cupboards are full of stuff!  Much easier to open the cabinets after the handles went on.   Unpacking was kind of fun!  There are still a few empty drawers and shelves, but I'm sure it won't stay that way for long!

What you can't see is the number of times we're halfway to the guest room to get something...even though we've unpacked :)

  1. The crown moulding really puts a nice finishing touch on those cabinets. Your kitchen looks so great. I'm so excited for you!
And I love little memory triggers like that too. One of mine for you is that little ecru metal star you sent me one Christmas at Calvin (sophomore year maybe?). It's been sitting on a shelf between the dining room and kitchen for the past year. I just packed it away yesterday.
Can't wait to find a nook for it in the new house!

  2. Actually I think the candies might remind other people of Karen too, if they were from East Side Marios....

I can't wait to see where you hang your star Mary. I can't wait to see where I hang MY stars?!

Love, love, love the mouldings and your 'granite'. Nice trick.
I love the handles, the faucet, the double doored fridge, the pantry surrounding the fridge, the potlights, the floor, all the colors together.... Sooooo nice!
That quite a change in the before/after shots. :)
    Also love the 'unseen'.
